Specialist aviation syndicate 5555 was launched on 1 October 2006.

Syndicate 5555 forms part of Umbrella Syndicate 2999, which has a total combined capacity of £780m. The syndicate is managed by QBE Underwriting Limited, the largest managing agent at Lloyd's with £1.12bn of capacity under management. QBE Underwriting Limited is a wholly owned subsidiary of the QBE Insurance Group, who provide 100% of the syndicate's capacity.

The Aviation team consists of highly experienced underwriters and senior market figures. Emilio Di Silvio is the Managing Director. He is a respected and recognised leader in the aviation sector who has been in the London market and Lloyd’s in particular, for over 30 years.
