On leaving school in 1979 Dan started work in the aviation insurance market. During his early years in the market Dan completed a two year Diploma in Air & Space Law at University College London including a year with Peter Martin of Frere Cholmley. Working initially in the wordings dept he progressed through the ranks and successive amalgamations to become an underwriter in a number of areas and classes before becoming the Airline Underwriter responsible for the Americas and Canada. In 2003 Dan then became the senior underwriter responsible for European Airlines.

After twenty seven years with the same company Dan joined the QBE team in October 2007 to fulfil the post of Senior Airline Underwriter for worldwide airlines.

In his spare time Dan enjoys playing tennis and orienteering as well as being an ardent supporter of Tottenham Hotspur.

Married to Maria for 25 years with two grown up boys aged 20 and 21 they live idyllically in the Garden County of Kent.
