Our understanding of the professional indemnity requirements of this sector are second to none; we know that a one size fits all approach will not work nor will market standard terms that require a host of endorsements to make them applicable to today’s world. Consequently, we have developed separate specialised products that fulfil the professional indemnity requirements across the whole gamut of contractor sizes and activities.

Our Design-2-Deliver (D2D) product is a ground-breaking initiative created to give medium sized contractors the same breadth of cover that was previously only available to national firms. Our D2D policy takes into account the growing trend in the industry towards design and build projects and offers the appropriate cover for this type of contract. We refer to D2D as the Rolls Royce of products; unlike other offerings on the market, D2D offers a broad cover which includes the following as standard:

For smaller contractors, we understand that the projects they undertake are generally smaller. Our basic policy affords these firms the level of coverage appropriate to the scale and size of contracts they undertake.

Claims notification can be a difficulty in the Design & Construct sector. It’s often hard for contractors to distinguish between the day-to-day teething troubles that arise on any project, and issues that may have more serious long-term implications. QBE PI’s claims management team has a long history dealing with this sector and works hand in hand with clients to resolve situations as efficiently and effectively as possible.
