QBE Insurance (Europe) Limited, branch

Starting with 1st January 2008 the international insurance and reinsurance company QBE Insurance Group Limited has been operating in Czech Republic, namely in the field of general insurance through the organisational unit QBE INSURANCE (EUROPE) LIMITED, having its seat in London. Formation of this organisational unit brings in particular the A+ rating (Standard and Poor’s) as well as the equity capital of the British company QBE Insurance (Europe) Limited.

The QBE Czech Republic focused primarily on business/corporate insurance, especially in the area of property and liability insurance business by using the huge experience obtained from the European markets and worldwide. Launching of the Prague organisational unit is in full harmony with the QBE strategy to become its integral part in cooperation with the leading international and local brokers.

QBE first entered the Czech insurance market in 2004 based on freedom to provide services within the European Union countries. From March 2005 to 2007 the Australian QBE Group was operating in Czech Republic through a branch of the Slovak joint stock company.
