Manager of the month - March 2008

Delia Crompton has scooped the QBE Fantasy Football manager of the month award for March.

Her team, Button Moon, collected an impressive 115 points as she became the first female winner of the season.

Delia, an administrative assistant at family run insurance broker Crompton Bailey in Ashton-Under-Lyne, said: "The person in second place was also a woman, so it must have been our month."

Delia, who has been on maternity leave for the majority of the season, works alongside her mother, father and brother. "We have got a little office league going on and my brother cannot believe what is going on," she said. "I have not paid much attention to it until now."

Manchester United fan Delia praised Cristiano Ronaldo for an outstanding month and revealed she studied the fixture list to select which transfers to make.

She currently sits in fifth place in the overall league and thinks she has a good chance of winning the competition. "I've got more transfers left than some of the guys ahead of me," she said. "I might have to start watching a few more football matches now."
